| Sophix ::: Favorites I liked Soderbergh's version more as well. Just as you said, it was more 'human', I could really feel Kelvin's pain and Rheya's confusion. And besides, even Stanislaw Lem (the author) said that the 2002 version was ok, which he did not say about Tarkovsky's one. 07-10-27 06:34:37 __________________________________________________ | |
| Dia222 ::: Favorites I like both versions of Solaris (personal opinion based on my fears and beliefs), but i find Soderbergh's more moving....more human....more liberating, because death shall have no dominion... What do you think? Which do you preffer and why? 07-10-27 06:22:21 __________________________________________________ | |
| Dia222 ::: Favorites Without trying to make it sound cheesy or dramatic, when i first saw that scene, all i could think was: no more pain, no more sorrow (of losing someone dear...). Then, there is that opening scene, when Chris cuts himself while cooking, but this time, it doesn't hurt....Again, no more pain.... So, to me, Solaris has somehow "transported" itself to Earth and got into its possession (which according to this version of Solaris is not that bad, because death shall have no dominion). 07-10-27 06:21:42 __________________________________________________ | |
| Dia222 ::: Favorites The final scenes in Solaris, Tarkovsky's and Soderbergh's. In Tarkovsky's, seeing that small piece of Earth floating in that Ocean makes me think that Kris is still on the space station and Solaris has somehow managed to "pick-up" his thoughts and simulate that part of his mind, his home in this case. In Soderbergh's, in the final scene we see the Earth covered in this veil that's called Solaris. 07-10-26 19:14:19 __________________________________________________ | |
| Devilsnightforlife ::: Favorites Words cant explain this film. This is a movie that plays with your feelings and I think the music gave the movie a nice touch. 07-10-05 21:07:43 __________________________________________________ | |
| Transformers217 ::: Favorites Tarkovsky's version is better. But this is one of the best remakes of all time. :) 07-09-22 16:14:09 __________________________________________________ | |
| fartjoke2000 ::: Favorites I'm really not a big fan of tarkovsky, but this is travesty 07-09-13 07:10:02 __________________________________________________ | |
| geo31 ::: Favorites Stanislaw Lem was brilliant, and BOTH versions have good things to say. The part that breaks my heart most is when he says "I remembered her wrong". This movie makes me feel so many things. 07-08-14 00:05:16 __________________________________________________ | |
