| Choppinsumwood ::: Favorites 2006-08-03 04:43:41 Wow. That's the Nat I know and love- his early days. To this day I still haven't heard soloing in a trio like his. His playing and comping is so distinct. I mean, his rhythm is addicting. He truly is one of the greats. =) __________________________________________________ | |
| Eccophonic ::: Favorites 2006-09-14 13:48:05 It's not Oscar Moore, it's Irving Ashby on guitar... __________________________________________________ | |

| deanjohnson3900 ::: Favorites 2006-10-16 20:29:51 Yes, thank you! I heard that the world lost one of the great jazz pianists to his going into pure vocal later in his career. Now I see why they said that! __________________________________________________ | |
| JosephNScott ::: Favorites 2007-01-23 13:47:04 The King Cole Trio formed in California (not Iowa). __________________________________________________ | |
| Durge56 ::: Favorites 2007-03-20 22:42:31 Check out that third song, the instrumental. Nice combo. Anytime you can witness Nat having some fun on the piano, it's a treat. __________________________________________________ | |
| chas63 ::: Favorites 2007-03-28 23:02:11 Nat King Cole was, in my opinion, the most under appreciated jazz pianist of his day. You can thank Capitol Records for that- they made him get away from his piano. Idiots. __________________________________________________ | |
| Eva4Johansson ::: Favorites 2007-04-29 12:20:20 It´s very god. I love it __________________________________________________ | |
| JosephNScott ::: Favorites 2007-06-01 03:25:29 Capitol didn't make Nat do anything. After about '49, Nat decided to emphasize his singing more than his piano -- whether he was on stage, recording for Capitol, in a movie, or whatever. (His second wife apparently thought he could be another Sinatra. And she was right, of course.) Prior to that, Capitol recorded tons of jazzy piano by Nat: instrumental Trio 78s, instrumental Capitol Transcriptions, Capitol International Jazzmen session in '45, Metronome All Stars session in '47.... __________________________________________________ | |
