Description:

Some Creationists love to pretend that a person cannot say she or he knows something happened unless she or he was there to witness it happening. When a scientist says that theropods, that is, all four-legged land animals, evolved from jawless fish, they will ask in reply "Were you there?" This is, of course, asinine. One need not be present at an event to know for a fact that it happened: anyone who does not believe me may now ask themselves how they know their mother and father had sexual congress at least once before the disbeliever was born. There are cults in the USA who have told their school children to harass science teachers in classrooms with the "Were you there?" question. Using children as weapons to further occult and political agendas is of course repugnant and abominable to everyone who is a moral, ethical, and decent human being: sadly, that excludes a huge number of Creationists. If and when the cult child is reprimanded or disciplined by the teacher, that is then used by the cult as more political fuel in their war against science and reason. Cults care nothing for what cost the child must pay, both in ignorance and in the consequences of disrupting classes. Words cannot express how vile and offensive I find such abuse of children. The video that follows was recorded by me last March.

From 4:00-5:00 you sound like Carl Sagan. It's quite uncanny. "Milljons, n' milljons uv yeirs"

"... if we find shit we can be 100% ..." Unfortunately, "understanding", like "logic" is something that many people find a lot easier to talk about than to practice.

"By the way- many creationists ask me how I know the river slowly went back and forth, cutting this canyon. My answer to them is Fuck you." Classic ^_^

The crux of the buscuit.. how do you rationally discuss, much less base your entire life upon something you yourself cannot define? What help for a mind that dismisses definition?

I am aware of that, as well as the equations that demonstrate it. Don't lose me now DP, I'm just taking a piss here. There is no intelligent discourse with proponents of creationism, just comic relief in righteous mocking and ridicule. And it IS funny and the reason I that I do so enjoy your videos. No Blues Brothers fans..?

"Funnier" in a sad way. Note that if one's pickup is going at the speed of light, its headlights' light would not be added to that speed. There is an simple equation that adds two or more near-c velocities together: the result is never "c" no matter how close to "c" both velocities are.

Ahh yes.. complex specific information.. that golden creationist topic which they're quite certain exists, but are unable to communicate in equally specific language. They've never shown anyone how to measure it.. but we're to believe it exists, and it's conclusive proof.

I would hate to be restricted to understanding only those things that happened directly in front of me. Yet, ironically, of course, this would rule out every single religion on Earth at the same time. Could it be? A logical disconnect between religion and reality? Nahhhh... couldn't be..
